dc.description.abstractIndian IT is witnessing an increasing trend for off-shoring of Research and Development and Product Engineering Services to India. This niche segment is stated to grow rapidly with the increased maturity that the Industry today has come to witness. The uniqueness of this R and D and PE Services business is characterized by various constraints and the Indian IT Service Vendors need to cast a re-Iook at their Marketing l Business Development Strategies to gamer a fair share of the business. This is more critical given that clients are coming up with their own India Development Centers which are an indirect competition for Indian IT Vendors. Also IP Licensing and Service from India is emerging as a disruptive model which threatens to erode the competitiveness of large, entrenched Service companies. This report delves into these challenges and how to evolve successful marketing and management strategies to grow this high value business.
