This technical report is written for organizations that have already invested incompliance with COPC or CMM standard and are now considering the adoption of eSourcing Capability Model for service providers (eSCM-SP).BPO organizations today face a challenge in adapting to different standards relevant to BPO (ITES) sector. More importantly the organizations wants to understand if "eSCM", the new standard in BPO is relevant if the organization is already COPC or CMM certified. This study compares the 2 relevant standards in BPO sector namely eSCM and COPC and also compares eSCM with CMM. When an organization adopts a new framework for capability improvement, it must consider whether the framework requires abandoning or drastically changing practices or processes in place. Specifically, organizations need to know the extent to which existing practices, processes, or systems count toward compliance with the new framework. While in general, most frameworks have common ideas and principles, there are differences between them with respect to approach, focus, and emphasis. The purpose of this report is to help organizations map their implementation of the requirements of COPC and CMM specifications to those of eSCM-SP's practices. This report highlights areas where there is a significant degree of overlap between the requirements of the eSCM-SP framework and the COPC and CMM frameworks and areas where the requirements of eSCM-SP framework is out of scope of the other two frameworks. Lastly Wipro Technologies quality processes framework called 'VelociQ' was studied and compared with eSCM-SP framework. VelociQ confirms to CMM, CMMi, PCMM and SEI-CMM quality frameworks. Lastly, specific recommendations have been made for organizations contemplating transition to eSCM along with COPC or CMM.
