Abstract: The Indian IT sector has been witnessing a rapid growth. This growth is further propelled by gaining and sustaining competitive advantage, accessing newer markets, producing innovative products and services and staying ahead in the technology evolution by means of the different alliances. There are various forms of alliances based on the purpose they seek to achieve. In this project we gather data from five of India s largest IT firms, both on its strategy and the various alliances it has formed. We do a literature study on the published literature that will aid our analysis. We would in the course of this project hypothesize and validate that there is indeed a correlation between an organization s strategy and the alliances they form.
