Title: | Himalayan institute hospital trust (HIHT) project | Authors: | Mohan, Hema | Keywords: | Health care services;Hospital management | Issue Date: | 2011 | Publisher: | Indian Institute of Management Bangalore | Series/Report no.: | PGSEM-PR-P11-40_1 | Abstract: | The Organization that I am working with for the Term project is HIHT (Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust). HIHT is a non-profit Organization committed to health, education and economic self-sufficiency, founded by Swami Rama and is located at the Swami Rama Nagar, mid way between Dehradun and Rishikesh. An integral part of the HIHT is RDI the Rural Development Institute that is following its founding principles of sustained and holistic development for people of Uttaranchal. RDI has its outreach in over1000 villages across the state catering to around 3,50,000 population. As a part of this project, I am looking at arriving at various viable options in order to generate income or profits at HIHT, which will then be routed to RDI for performing developmental activities in Uttaranchal as envisioned by Swami Rama. The proposed model will be_ In line with the vision of the Institute which is Serve, Love and Remember_ A part of the Healthcare heritage that was initiated by Swami Rama_ Effective enough to bring in sufficient revenues in order to spearhead the development activities and cover all the people and villages that have been ear-marked for development_ A self-sustaining model_ A source of income to the population of Uttarakhand especially the Garhwal region._ Flexible enough to take into consideration various factors like hospitality business and tourism which are on the charter of the Uttarakhand Government._ Should be scalable and help make RDI an independent body that doesn t depend / rely on grants for sustenance. Taking the above points into consideration, I am currently working on gathering data around exploring the current activities being done at the different departments at HIHT and explore the most viable option | URI: | http://repository.iimb.ac.in/handle/123456789/11017 |
