dc.description.abstract | Automation and Talent Management: The changing scenario; While Talent Management gets its due focus in the overall operations of self-aware organizations, the understanding and acceptance of productivity enhancing software solutions has been low. Financial operations with its emphasis on accuracy and complexity, and production/ engineering operations with it measurability and ease of quantifying the benefits have been the first functions to welcome software solutions. The human effort required for running a successful Talent Management operation has now exceeded that which is required to manage finances and has increased in criticality to match that of core operations/ engineering/ production. Available solutions in the market: While large enterprises understand this changed scenario, it is only large vendors like Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, etc who have tried to fulfil their needs. There is a severe dearth of solutions offered to the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in terms of affordability, accessibility and flexibility-integration. Of the few individual solutions on offer, nearly none cover the entire gambit of Talent Management. There is also the added issue of market fragmentation. The following table gives a brief: | |
