dc.description.abstractIn any competitive industry, the race for market share and profitability results in signalling mechanisms to enthuse various stakeholders. In this project, we have tried to analyze the impact of public announcements from Smart phone companies on their daily stock returns. We have tried to analyze the announcements related to such areas as New Product Announcements, Alliances and Acquisitions, New Feature Enhancements, and Key Employee Entry/Exits from the industry leaders and their impact on their respective daily stock returns. We hope this report helps in furthering the knowledge about the Smart phone industry and the importance of the PR announcements in the industry. This project was carried out as a fulfillment of the curriculum criteria as prescribed by the PGSEM offices of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB).The report represents the original work of team members and does not contain any material that has been taken from any source, except as acknowledged.
