dc.description.abstract | The increasing deployment of wireless networks and the widespread popularity of handheld devices have led to numerous applications ranging from mobile banking to location-based tracking to mobile advertising. Mobile payment is one such service. Mobile payments are predicted to have a bright future as m-commerce becomes more popular. However, this promising application has not been as successful as anticipated. This can be partially explained by the infancy of the market and a lack of standards but customer acceptance has turned out to be a decisive factor in its success. The objective of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of consumers perceptions regarding the usage of mobile payment systems and also identify those factors that drive and inhibit their adoption both through qualitative and empirical analysis. | |
