A report on assignment undertaken during summer internship

Abstract

Vibrant Tech Private Limited is essentially involved III Knowledge dissemination in the emerging areas of Technology and management. The Company has already conducted more than 40 seminars, brought in around400 speakers and disseminated knowledge to more than 4000 participants. I was given the designation of Event Executive in the Organization and assigned the task of doing all the ground work that goes into conducting a management seminar in the domain of Mergers and Acquisitions. This is the first such seminar in this domain that is to be organized by the company. Initially, I was asked to do some research on the emerging trends and aspects Of Mergers and Acquisitions and suggest a suitable topic for the seminar. In answer to this requirement, data collection was done from secondary sources through internet and primary sources by conducting Depth Interviews with the relevant corporate personnel. After getting sufficient inforn1ation from these people, I prepared a draft agenda and validated it with experts through mails as well meeting some of them personally. The topic of the seminar finally decided was "Mergers and Acquisitions - A Practical Perspective". Once the final agenda was developed, the date and venues for the program was fixed at 8th June in Bangalore. This was done to ensure that at least one full month be allocated to marketing this event to the target audience but due to some unavoidable reasons the event was shifted to a later date. As a next step, prospective speakers for each session was identified, contacted and finalized. Subsequently, I developed a format for brochure and advertisement text to market this event and a format for mail and fax to follow up the speakers as well as the target audience.
