dc.description.abstract | The Commercial Finance Certification Program has been proposed for the employees in Band 4 and above levels, as well as the Resident Experts in the Band 5 level. The objective of the certification is to equip them with domain knowledge of Commercial Finance, in addition to their process expertise. Genpact is a rapidly growing BPO, acquiring new businesses in various areas. Due to the high employee chum in the BPO industry, in-house talent pool needs to be trained to meet the demand for managers. The Certification program has been divided into 2 phases, with 3 levels of certification in all. In Phase 1, a single vendor provides classroom coaching to the employees on Industry knowledge, Conceptual knowledge and Financial Product knowledge. The course duration is expected to be 3 months, with 48 contact hours. In Phase 2, the best vendor is identified for each of the Specialization topics. This is an optional module, wherein the employees choose the topic of their interest and learn it online. This should be completed within the next 3 months after Phase 1.Around 20 different vendors were identified from India and abroad, ranging from business schools to online training providers to e-Iearning vendors. The vendors had to meet all the CTQs (Critical to Quality), namely Low Cost, Long term working relationship, Ready course content on offer, Low Resource Requirement for program delivery and good Value - add for the employees. Although, the competency matching for the vendors and the course content has been done, final decision can be taken only after negotiations with them. The following recommendations have been made in connection with the Certification program: Face-to-face workshop is the best mode of delivery for Phase 1 program. Optimal academic rigor must be maintained to reap the full benefits of the program. Right environment must be provided for the candidates to learn. The objective of the certification program must be communicated to the employees. Course content must be designed by taking the employee profile into consideration. The pilot program must be reviewed to incorporate changes for the future batches. | |
