Abstract: The report demonstrates the work done during the 8-week summer internship duration. It is structured to represent the various work-streams worked upon during the above mentioned period. The approach adopted is brief description of problem statement and objective followed by analysis and diagnostics which is further followed by recommendations and key insights. The report deals with a cycle time reduction study for an EPC Client. The study entails understanding the As Is process is great details and outlining all the steps that constitute the process. Various milestone events necessary for completion of the process are also identified. This is followed by a through and rigorous diagnostics- analysis for highlighting the root cause for the delays experienced in the cycle. Important sources of delays relate to documentation and coordination issues with a need for improving expertise in domains of Billing Break-up (BBU) preparation. The recommendations are aligned to solving the pressing causes of delays. Important solutions pertain to standardisation of documentation, stricter verification and institutionalisation of coordination and tracking mechanisms. Other areas of improvements like promoting excellence in BBU itemisation and standardisation with respect to activities have also been highlighted.
