dc.description.abstract | This study seeks to investigate the policy options for low-carbon energy security regime in India. The paper is developed within the larger context of energy security and carbon-dioxide emission and its consequence in the climate change. It investigates the major contributors of carbon-dioxide emission at Low carbon and Base level scenario. It focuses to quantify the carbon-dioxide emission in the different types of technologies adopted in the thermal power plants. It tries to find out how low-carbon energy scenario can mitigate the climatic change and fulfil the global commitments without affecting energy security of India. Considering the global commitments and ensuring energy security, the various policy options have been suggested in this paper. | |
