Abstract

Eagle Burgmann Industries is a global alliance between Eagle Industries, the largest sealing systems manufacturer in Japan and Burgmann Industries, the largest seal manufacturer in Germany. This alliance is the 2nd largest seal manufacturer in the world. Both the companies are controlled by the Freudenberg Group, based out of Weinheim, Germany. The alliance wasformed in 2005 since the merger or any closer form of integration could invite a litigation inthe anti trust courts of Europe. Prior to the formation of the alliance, both the companies were independently present in India and continue to maintain their establishments under Burgmann India Pvt Ltd and Eagle Seals and Systems Ltd (ESSIL), with ESSIL being the Indian market leader. Burgmann India Pvt Ltd is a joint venture between Burgmann Industries, Germany and the Balwa Group in India.
