dc.description.abstractin this paper, an attempt is made to outline some of the consequences of the process of globalisation in Indian industry as a result of the transition to markets in Eastern Europe. India's decision to join the mainstream has come at a time which could not have been less opportune. The necessity for entering into strategic alliances to enter East European markets is highlighted as also the need for a concerted effort to systematically accquire, collate and process information necessary to translate company objectives into reality.
