dc.description.abstractThe Indian fixed services access network (also usually called basic services) has an estimated 44.76 million subscribers at end-December 2004. In terms of revenues, the fixed access services revenues were estimated at around Rs. 300 billion during FY2004. The Indian cellular wireless mobile services segment comprises cellular mobile services based on global system of mobile communications (GSM) and code division multiple access (CDMA) has an estimated subscriber base of 48.45 million at end-December 2004 (comprising 37.38 million on GSM and 11.08 million on CDMA). Total market size in terms of revenues was estimated at around Rs. 145 billion during FY2004. While the Indian national long distance (NLD) market was estimated at around Rs. 50 billion during FY2004, the international long distance (ILD) market was estimated at around Rs. 43 billion during FY2004.en_US
