One of the most important parameters in measuring if a country is considered developed or not, is the level of education amongst its citizens. India, of late, has been striving to stake a claim as one of the top most nations in the world today. And for this claim to come to fruition, one obviously has to ensure that all matters regarding education are in the right place. India’s demographic dividend, it’s increasing working-age population (Refer Appendix 1) can contribute only when they are equipped with the right skills, which in turn implies that they need to be appropriately educated. And education spanning right from the primary level to the highest levels of research. It is not just the government’s responsibility to ensure the pervasiveness of education, for the simple reason that they will not have enough investment capacity to do the same. Which is where, the role that private sector can play comes into the picture.en_US
