Urban commute has become a challenge especially in cities like Bangalore which are unplanned and where the roads are not built to handle the current traffic. The unexpected growth in IT industry has increased the first time car buyers and the infrastructure is doing a catch-up act. The inadequate public transport and the long commute hours make the commuters prefer personal mode of transportation. The personal mode of transport has its own hassles like traffic, higher cost which make the ride not so enjoyable. Apart from this, it also leads to increased traffic and pollution. Shared cars promote the idea of less usage of cars on the road, save fuel, save environment and make the journey joyful. However they have not yet picked up. In this project, we plan to propose a business model for shared cars or taxies.
