dc.description.abstract | Every industrial revolution has created a new social, economic and environmental impact. The economic power has shifted across geographies, providing opportunities to emerging countries and fundamentally changing the lives of people across the globe. Things like internet which were seen in 1990 s as a source of information has now become a need. People live in a digital era where information is everything. Access to information has become cheaper if not free, reliable and also faster with platforms and social media. The fourth industrial revolution is set to drastically change the economy worldwide. The next decade is visualized to be drastically different with Artificial Intelligence, Robots, 3D printing and a sleuth of new technologies changing the way we do business and consume products. Customer needs would change and so would strategy of businesses that provide these products or solutions will change. In this context we analyze the impact of Automation on the Indian It services industry, implications and steps that need to taken by both corporates and Governments to make most of this opportunity. The underlying problem is of skill enhancement that needs to be addressed and is the focus of this report. | |
