As these IT jobs are projected to increase, so are these health disorders. But by implementing a few basic changes in everyday regimen, these adverse symptoms can be eased and a healthy and happy lifestyle can be led. The modern economy related sedentary jobs induce a lot of stress at work leading to Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI). This leads to a lot of physical problems and these in turn reflect in the behavioral attitude of the professionals while dealing with work and people. The diet and calorie intake of these working class professionals also needs to be closely monitored given the junk food and processed food made available in these companies. Hence the need to look at wholistic approach to the health issues leading to one's own well being as well as a healthy atmosphere. Along with employee education, it is also important for the employers to realize the importance of investing in employees' health as it not only assures a return on investment in the form of happy, motivated and productive employees but also provides tax benefits. This can be made possible via many ways ranging from positive changes and reinforcement of a health-conscious HR policy to pro-active involvement of employees. This study includes the current magnitude of health issues, nutrition levels, attitude towards fitness, awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and over-all fitness levels in the IT industry. It aims to suggest easy ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle by pro-active involvement instead of spending huge amounts of money on costly gym equipment, crash weight loss programs and fad diets.
