Abstract: The context, scale, and intensity of global competition demands that firms, in order to gain sustainable competitive advantages, adopt proactive, innovative strategies. Impact-making and pioneering innovations require a global perspective, a scientific temper, and teamwork. Such path-breaking entrepreneurship is possible through high potential individuals who would need to have not only an ability to think through logically but also be innovative. In this article, Arun Kumar Jain emphasizes the need for making such globally-relevant, professional entrepreneurial managers, outlines some important characteristics, and identifies key opportunity areas.
