Title: | LED street lighting; Philips Electronics India Ltd. | Authors: | Kulkarni, Aditya P | Keywords: | Electronics industry;Street light;LED | Issue Date: | 2010 | Publisher: | Indian Institute of Management Bangalore | Series/Report no.: | PGP_SP_P10_001 | Abstract: | The internship program was spread over 8 weeks and consisted of determining the opportunities for LED street lighting in India, developing a survey to test the validity of the identified opportunities and developing a marketing strategy for LED street lighting. The deliverables of the projects which consisted of finding the early adopters were frozen on the first day of the internship. For the next two weeks I interacted with product managers and market information officers to understand the exact actionable recommendation that could be immediately implemented.. This also helped me understand the exact type of data needed. A midterm review was conducted to review the work which had been completed till then. The senior management team from the lighting department was present for this. They gave me recommendations on how to leverage on the work that had been done till then and proceed with the project. The review also clarified the process that should be followed when working in a Business to Government project. The project provided an opportunity to execute a survey. This gave a flavor of the challenges one can face when a survey is implemented.. Based on the survey results the target market segments were identified and the marketing strategy was developed.. This was presented to the CEO, CMO and the senior management team. A feedback process was carried out after the end term review. | URI: | https://repository.iimb.ac.in/handle/2074/16611 |
