Abstract: The internship programme started on 5th of April, 2010 with an introduction about the firm and investment banking in particular. The investment banking in Anand Rathi is divided into 8 sectoral teams. Each sectoral team made a presentation about their sector, prospect & opportunities, the mandates they are working on and the key takeaways for the summer interns. Next, based on our preferences we were allocated to different sectoral teams. I was allocated to the Consumer and Retail Sector (FIG). In the 9 weeks as a summer intern I worked on various live and prospective deals in these sectors with specific deliverables and strict deadlines attached to them. Using data sites such as Bloomberg & Factset and attending conference calls went in conjugation to the above.
