dc.description.abstract | My project was to identify banking opportunities for the LLC division in the Eastern India. LLC East has only 18 clients and there- isa huge soope- in the eastern market. I was supposed to find the potential clients and the name clearance notes for them by doing both the financial and op~rational analyses. My approach was first to deliver the universe and then to identify companies. I divided the entire market into 4 regions and found out all the companies (with turnover of more than INR 8bn) which are headquartered in those regions. I identified more than 150 companies with whom HSBC is not banking with. My next step was to analyze the financials of those companies. I did all the ratio analysis and comparisons with industry. I shortlisted 20 companies to further analyze by keeping the HSBC ratio benchmarks and the specific sector requirements. I then did the industry analysis and studied specific industries to get into deeper with my operational analysis. After doing the industry analysis and after talking to more than 10 clients and industry experts, I understood the banking requirements for their businesses. Finally after all the analysis and after consultation with my guide, I recommended 6 companies to initiate the banking relationship with. I also recommended the products to be offered by HSBC to those 6 specific clients. My recommendations also include some specific sector to focus in the next two years. In my entire project I was working as a part of their strategi~ growth in terms of getting new clients and focusing untapped industries. My key deliverables for the project were: universe definition and logical division of the universe identify clients that can be scoped further by the bank and also products of HSBC that can be offermt tcr' those-clients; tmd'~ identify specific industries that can be targeted for banking relationship in the next two years. At the end I was supposed to submit a project report to my guide explaining the adequate reasons and substantial data for my recommendations. | |
