We got an end-end picture of how the SHG (Self Help Groups) are originated, how the loans were disbursed, and how it is collected on a bi-weekly basis in each collection centers. We were then asked to present on the information we could gather during the field visit, during which most of the knowledge gap we had in the MFI operations were addressed by the top executives of the IFMRTrust. c) Analysis of Due-diligence criteria for MFI's In order to have a thorough understanding of the way IFMR Mezzanine evaluates an MFI, we were asked to analysis the due-diligence template used by the company. The due-diligence template had covered all the aspects like Management, operations, financials etc., We were asked to analyze and understand each and every evaluation points under all the above aspects. d) Evaluation of an MFI After the above task we were asked to evaluate couple of MFI's using the above due-diligence criteria, and were asked to present. The discussion during this presentation was very insightful, where in we got an understanding of the problems one could face in reality in evaluating the MFI, and how each and every evaluation points evaluates the quality of the MFI being evaluated.
