Abstract: The internship commenced with a 3-day induction program that covered all the areas of operations of the bank in India and the future plans of all the departments. Right after that the interns were sent to their mentors to commence their projects. PROJECT RATIONALE: This product suite's margins are under pressure due to the following recent developments: • Margins in insurance going down due to high competition and regulatory clamping • SEBI - IRDA row is expected to have a significant impact on distributor margIns • Removal of entry loads in mutual funds have lowered distributor margins Therefore, CBG India is looking at launching the retail assets business to: • Develop an alternate and meaningful revenue stream • Retail Assets business can significantly attain volumes (New customerslRecurring revenues) for the franchise in India. It has the potential to be a lucrative business proposition for DBS India~ • Enlarge the product suite and offer a holistic proposition to the customer.
