Consolidated financial model for three SBU's, namely, energy and utilities, manufacturing and pharma, and healthcare and services; Wipro Technologies

Abstract

My project involved creating a consolidated financial model for three SBU's of Wi pro Technologies, namely, Energy & Utilities, Manufacturing & Pharma, and Healthcare & Services. Initial phase of the project required me to collect data for Energy & Utilities SBU, over the period oflast two fiscal years. The data files were then suitably used (or reconciled) to create the requisite financial model. Similar exercise was repeated for the other two SBU's as well, namely, Manufacturing & Pharma, and Healthcare & Devices. I worked with each of the BU specific Business Finance Team to obtain and analyze the data relevant to that BU. I also interacted with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP & A) team of Wipro Technologies for data collection. Once the spreadsheet was ready, I spent about a week, analyzing the E&U model, which threw quite a few interesting results. At the same time, I was able to observe the limitations of the model. The model could be further enhanced to perform more comprehensive analysis, like, revenue/cost analysis of development / maintenance projects 7 does it follow 80:20 rule? What is the optimal strategy in that scenario? Etc.
