dc.description.abstractThis is the first time four interactive Pvt. Ltd. had summer intern from any of the MBA College. Duration for the entire internship was eight weeks. Company has certain products from which they generate revenues. They run local search engine called Asklaila.com; making search really local. They developed their own Search engine Optimizer through which website shows the relevant search results. Their main revenues come from sponsored listing, lead generations and advertisements. Margins on those products are very low. Industry analysis of the Local search in India: The Local Search Market is evolving to reach new heights of growth; it is expected to boom substantially in the near future as local searches constitute 30% of the total web searches. This may be attributed to the increasing interest of people searching for local information using mobile phones and websites instead of using tradition printed directories for the local information. From 2006 to 2007, the number of web-surfers in India jumped nearly 30 per cent to 30.32 million, according to a study by online research group JuxtConsult. Mobile surfing is even more popular, with 76 million Indians accessing the net by their phones in June 2008, according to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's (TRAI) quarterly report. An insight into the growth in this sector may be attributed mainly to the proliferation of internet and extensive use by young population, increasing mobile Internet usage, and the profits earned by small and local business owners This goes to show that more and more people are using web sites and mobile phones to find out almost every place locally.
