dc.description.abstract | The internship at Macquarie Capital was for a period of 8 weeks. Prior to the start of the internship at our respective desks, we had an elaborate induction program that covered most of the cultural, technical and behavioral expectations of the internship. The induction program was for 3 days and covered areas such as Macquarie's history and evolution, description of the various businesses and regions that the company operated in, detailed explanation of some of the important business verticals and technical topics such as the database management and file storage and retrieval system followed in Macquarie. The actual internship was completely on the job, with the team involving me in any deal I transaction that they were working on at the moment. The nature of work at the TMET team could be broadly described under 2 heads -live deals and pitching activity. I worked on a number of live transactions and pitching assignments. Work I did included: 1. Analyzing company financial results to identify key drivers of revenue and profits, changes from previous periods and understanding the reasons for the same 2. Contributing to the preparation of client documents for live transactions, including preparation of presentations and other ad-hoc work 3. Other miscellaneous work such as acquiring shareholder information for specific companies, database searches and compilation of reports, reading and analyzing analyst reports on various companies etc | |
