Title: | Analysis of bond markets in Asia; Royal Bank of Scotland | Authors: | Swetha, S | Keywords: | Bond markets;Debt markets | Issue Date: | 2010 | Publisher: | Indian Institute of Management Bangalore | Series/Report no.: | PGP_SP_P10_163 | Abstract: | As a Summer Intern in the Primary Debt Markets Origination team, my responsibilities were divided into three types of tasks. Daily tasks were ad-hoc, where I would help the Associates and MDs on the floor with pitches, models and presentations for various clients. These would require quick turn around and high accuracy as they would mostly be sent to clients without any cross-checking by higher levels. Most of the day would be spent helping the team and in the process getting to know what different members in the team do. From the team's perspective this would be the way to judge if I gelled well with the team members and would be able to contribute and work with them on a day to day basis. I was also assigned some weekly responsibilities - mainly weekly updates for various projects and for the Debt markets which would be sent out to prime clients to sense market appetite and know latest market happenings. These updates required extensive use of Bloomberg and Dealogic and served to sharpen technical skills. Besides these, there were long term projects I was assigned to - one was a live project for a syndicated loan and the other was the internship project where the Asian Bond markets had to be studied. | URI: | https://repository.iimb.ac.in/handle/2074/16782 |
