Abstract: The internship was in the marketing domain in the consumer business category. It also significantly involved retail marketing as the output of the project was exclusively directed towards improving sales in the company owned and franchise stores. A lot of insi~hts about the textile industry ranging from issues related to manufacturing to managing channel partners to merchandizing for each store based on the customer buying trends were also gained. Competitors for VimaI in the suitings category which include Raymond, Dig Jam etc were also studied along with those in apparel category. Modern trends in the fashion industry were understood during the execution of the project.
