Write up on proposed alliance fund management Ltd.; ACIL Ltd.

Abstract

The objective of this project was to prepare a write up on the proposed Alliance Fund Management Company. The write up includes the proposed equity stake in the above company by Crosby Asset Management Co, Ltd., Clemente Capital Inc., IFC Washington, Commonwealth Development Corporation, Duncan Lawrie Ltd. as per their preliminary discussion with Dr. Abhijit Sen. A description of the various schemes commonly found in India is given along with the Money Market Mutual Funds. The write up dwells on the mutual funds in India over the past few years, the effect of proportionate allotment of shares on them, areas of dispute between the mutual funds and SEBI future prospects. The study which is ba5@d primarily on secondary data, points to a bright future for mutual funds as the capital market is gradually becoming more and more institutionalised. However the fluctuations in the secondary market reflected through the Sensex also have a great effect on the success 01 the mutual schemes specially the growth schemes.
