Abstract: The aim of the project is to estimate and project the demand for auto spares in the next 5 years in South India. This also involved a study on the market Practices of spares market. A structured questionnaire was administered to a sample of the respondents in all four states comprising mechanics, fleet operators, and retail shops and the responses were recorded. A list of fast-moving spare parts in both HCV and LCV: segments was considered and an estimate of each of their lives was obtained from the market survey. The population of the vehicles was calculated using the past sales data. After incorporating other factors that affect the demand, the projection was done for the next 5 years. The qualitative aspect of the project deals with the prominent market practices in the retail segment in South India. The retailers’ feedback on Telco’s products and those of the competitors was obtained to assess the market situation. Finally, suggestions are given to improve the market share in the coming years.
