A study of the Coconut oil market in smaller towns of Tamil Nadu with a special focus on the potential for 100 ml pouch. The ratio of loose to packed Coconut oil consumption in towns of less than 50,000 population is 15 : 1 across all the belts, but in the loose oil belt, the ratio is higher. On an average, the ratio of VVD to PCNO varies between 2:1 and 2.5:1 in these towns. However, this ratio differs in individual towns due to extraneous factors. The index / 1000 pop. for potential retail outlets decreases exponentially as the population of the town decreases.
