dc.description.abstractThe IV fluid market has become highly price-sensitive after the entry of Core who has acquired No. 1 position in the industry today. And as doctors have started dispensing the LVPs, the share of chemists in the market has reduced to around 10%. There are approximately 14 lac beds in India which is growing at 5% per year mainly in the private sector. The number of bottles used per bed per month is approximately 16 bottles; which totals upto an annual requirement of 26 crore bottles. The requirement of bottles/bed/month is expected to increase to 17 bottles in 1995, 18 in 1997 and 20 by the year 2000. Knowing this vast potential of an IV fluid market, Torrent has acquired India Infusion near Baroda
