Abstract: In the last few years the information needs to conduct a business has grown rapidly. The information requirements for taking successful business decisions has not only become copious, but also call for more accuracy and timeliness in transmission. Information network has come to assume a lot of importance and is a feasible solution to the present problem of fast, reliable and accurate information. The need for information network is now being greatly felt in the business of publishing newspapers, periodicals and magazines. Data keep pouring in from all parts of the country or even the world at a tremendous rate ; moreover there is a neck to neck competition among the various publishing houses to cover a news item the earliest and in the most correct form. The rationale for the present study is to figure out the demand potential for networking systems among the publishing houses.
