dc.description.abstract | Agriculture is one of the chief occupations for people in China. Even today, around 300 million people in China are directly involved in agriculture. Around 15% of China’s land is arable, representing 10% of the world’s arable land yet produces food grains for 20% of the population. This clearly underlines the importance of efficiency and intelligent farming. Other issues like failure to expand agriculture to the west and north of China, dry farmlands, toxic pesticides, low mechanization levels of agriculture, etc. have further created hurdles in high agriculture output levels. Given these circumstances, agriculture intelligence has now become the need of the hour. However, there are not many experts in the field who can be consulted about advice on smart agriculture techniques. This is where Smart Agriculture Analytics steps in. The agricultural analytics client firm this project was done for (henceforth referred to as AA) is an analytics firm in China. Just in its nascent stage, AA aims to become the Chinese and then the global leader in agriculture analytics. Currently, the firm offers business intelligence service that analyses and catalogues the demand side market for agricultural technology in China with a focus on social, environmental & economic sustainability to help enable agro-tech companies around the world to enter the Chinese market. | |
