Short term surpluses in Delhi: A study; SRF Finance Ltd.

Abstract

This project is aimed at studying the potential of various segments in Delhi for short term surpluses. The potential of various segments - both existing as well as untapped, had to be studied with specific reference to the Trust Honey Scheme, a short term deposit scheme recently started by SRFF. Five segments were chosen to be studied. two existing and three new ones. The already existing segments are: - Exporters. -Individuals who have sold property The newly identified segments are: -Doctors - Schools - Individuals who have been awarded land compensation. Of these, Exporters, Schools and Doctors are directly accessible segments. The other two segments namely Individuals who have sold property and those who have been awarded land compensation are not directly accessible. Windows to these segments were found and through these information about these segments was obtained.

From the study, it was concluded that all these are potential segments for the TMS. The main consideration while making investment decisions is security of funds and therefore it is important to remove the unfavourable image that the customers have about the Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs).

The main strengths of the THS are - the interest rates offered which are much higher in comparison with bank interest rates anyone who deals scheme. the services which can be provided to with SRFF and the flexibility of the These features need to be properly highlighted and clearly communicated to the potential customer, by word of mouth. mailers etc.
