A humongous amount of data available now is one of many unexpected resultant byproducts of the internet revolution in the electronic information era. This huge volume of data resides dormant in many data bases across the world. With the help of analytics, business insight can be extracted from this dormant data. It is widely believed now that these insights can become a significant competitive advantage to the company.
