dc.description.abstract | Post economic reforms of 1991 in India, higher education in the country has evolved to a significant extent. Most notable among various streams of higher education is the field of management education. Compared to developed nations where management education has thrived for ages, it gained momentum in India only in the last couple of decades. Indian B-School graduates have made a mark for themselves in the corporate world both at domestic and international platforms. International consulting firms, investment banks and business conglomerates recruit regularly from Indian B-Schools for domestic as well as global positions. However, it has been observed that in several cases, there is a difference between roles/ positions offered by multinational companies that recruit from both US and Indian B-Schools. Also, the present scenario in India is interesting in terms of increasing skill gap that poses formidable challenges to companies. This requires Indian business schools to re-invent themselves and align to the industry requirements. We would like to propose recommendations to Indian B-schools about modifying their offerings to suit the recruiters in a better way. | |
