Abstract: The influence of Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems (IS) on the current business environment has been quite rampant during this new millennium. IT has become so critical for almost any organization, irrespective of its size and business that even to sustain in the current highly competitive market – forget about growth – it needs to use the latest IT systems and software available. Successful selection, implementation, and utilization to the fullest potential of these new technologies and systems are crucial for sustaining and enhancing the competitive advantage in the current business scenario. However, implementation of these new technologies is never easy due to the resistance and complacence of the employees with the legacy systems.
