This study aims at identifying and conducting a suitable gap-analysis and developing a value proposition for DHL in its bid to establish itself in the Bangalore Logistics Market. The study involves an extensive market search of the Bangalore Logistics and Transport Industry followed by identification of the various segments present. It also requires selecting established and upcoming players in the various segments – both customers and the logistics service providers (LSP). Each of these players would be interviewed on their current scenario, style, operational efficiency, shortcomings and future plans. A detailed analysis of all the interviews would then be carried out followed by a one-to-one value matching exercised with that of DHL’s current and proposed value propositions. The gap would then be identified and suggestions would be made on the value adds that can be brought into DHL’s system. In the process of identifying the players, FTL (Full Truck Load) services would be our main focus offered by single truck owners, LSP’s and other agents. However, we would also obtain other information pertaining LTL (Less Than Truck Load) services from the players. The customers that are to be chosen might already be using the service of a LSP or they might have an internal supply chain/logistics service that helps them in their day-to-day operations.
