The term housing finance has not been defined by any financial authority or Act. Even the International Union for Housing Finance which is the international networking organization among different nations on the topic of housing finance has made no official stand as to the meaning of the term housing finance. When we try to understand what is meant by housing finance, it is very much essential to look at the context in which we are talking i.e. developed or developing countries. This is because the meaning of housing finance differs in different countries especially between developed and developing markets.
