Abstract: Inclusive education is the mainstay of the various education-related welfare programmes being introduced by the government. But the real meaning of inclusive education is not just extending the education and employment opportunities to the economically weaker sections of the society, but also includes different groups that face discrimination on the basis of caste and gender are also included. In that context, two important issues have been identified – discrimination of girl child and caste-based discrimination – for further focus. The dynamics of the issue at hand, the challenges, the stakeholders and the possible solutions are also discussed at length.
