Abstract: The Board of Control for Cricket in India is the national governing body for Indian Cricket. In the past years, the government has exempted the BCCI for tax payments on the groundsthat it fosters Cricket promotion in the country and the government of India considers it tobe a charitable activity; but the introduction of IPL has raised serious questions on thisissue. Without the recognition of BCCI, no competitive form of Cricket is supposed toinvolve BCCI-contracted players in the matches played within and outside the IndianTerritory. The sources of revenue for the board includes the sale of media rights, franchise sale, titlesponsorships etc.
