dc.description.abstractAgriculture is an integrated set of processes to grow vegetables and rear animals for asustainable food production system. There are several forms of agriculture like (1) Subsistenceagriculture (2) Commercial agriculture.iSubsistence agriculture is a form of agriculture which is mainly practiced for producing a certainamount of food to sustain a family. There is hardly any surplus amount generated for selling in themarket.Commercial agriculture comprises of producing crops and rearing livestock for selling the endproducts in the market and garner monetary benefits. Agriculture began in India in 9000 BC in the form of subsistence agriculture. Later on it followedwith implements and techniques being developed for agriculture. Currently, India has largestcultivable land after US and It always enjoys the growing conditions suited to most crops, vegetable and fruits. India also enjoys its adequate water supply. The same is evident from following naturalvegetation figure of India.
