With the Indian Consumer pyramid evolving into a diamond with more and more people moving into the middle class, their consumption is all set to take the Indian growth story to the next heights. With food, shelter and clothes being the basic amenities for any human, the industries in these sectors have been growing historically well. The food consumption pattern of India is moving more towards meat and proteins. While poultry industry has taken full advantage of this growth, fisheries and other meat industries have a huge growth potential and provide an opportunity for the entry of an organized player into these markets. Building an entire value chain like the poultry business starting from contract farmers to culture fish using a technique called composite culture, eliminating all middle men and transferring the supply to franchisee partners directly is what this business plan aims to achieve. With ample marine fish supply to coastal areas and important cities, the Indian Major Carps grown through this composite culture enjoy consumer preference in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities because of its availability, taste and low cost. But with rising awareness of people to consume healthy food and increased preference for fish meat, the demand is all set to strip supply by 2020. In that scenario freshwater culture is the only hope to increase supply and keep fish prices accessible to the common man. In the other end of supply chain are the retail stores which are largely owned by Government bodies. Owing to the poor hygiene conditions at no proper service at these stores, the retail cutting zone has an opportunity to deliver better value to the customers. Thus this business plan does not create a new business entity by itself but aims to serve a larger purpose by eradicating inefficiencies and integrating the entire supply chain with various stakeholders
