dc.description.abstractThe Indian electronic industry accounts for just 0.7% of the global electronics industry andcontributes around 1.7% of the country’s GDP. The market was valued at approximately Rs.771 billion in 2007, with a CAGR of 16% between 2002 and 2007. The industry wasexpected to grow at a brisk pace with potential market size of Rs. 1600 billion in 2010,reflecting an annual growth rate of 20%. This growth has attracted several global players toIndia who have made large investments to access the local market. Solectron, Flextronics,Jabil Circuits and Cadence Design are some of the current major players. (Delloite, 2008)
