The growth rate has been impressive for the last two decades with 7.4% in fiscal year 2009-2010 and grew by 6.86% in 2011. It is greatly placed to meet the global market demand with 64% of the population in the working age group (15-60 years). Contribution of agriculture to the national economy is declining slowly (2009: 17.5% of the national income) with rise in service and manufacturing sector. Since the introduction of market-based economic reforms in 1991, India has become one of the fastest growing major economies in the world and ICT sector is one of main contributors to this growth. | URI: | https://repository.iimb.ac.in/handle/2074/18989 |
