dc.description.abstract | The Indian Media & Entertainment (M&E) industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in India. It is growing at a pace more than the growth of our GDP. It has a big ready-made market in term of huge audience base. Favourable demographics along with rise of digital media contribute to the success story of Indian M&E sector. The market Size in 2010 was $13.5 billion while the estimated market size in 2015 is $25 billion. The major driving forces affecting the growth of this sector are – * Increase in the audience base for digital media. * Increase in the media penetration among towns other than major cities in India. * Increased reach of regional media. Apart from these, there are other factors also that are giving impetus to the M&E industry. Some of these are increased accessibility usage of internet and wireless broadband, digitization of cable and increased penetration of Direct-to-Home (DTH) services. | |
