Culture is a set of values, norms, guiding beliefs and shared understanding. For organizations,1 it is the quality of the environment that they can create for the individuals to come together as a cohesive group instead of cluttered positions. In this sense, culture becomes one of the most significant, necessary and intangible undertakings which needs to be nurtured carefully if the organization must see any tangible future. As students of IIM Bangalore, we have realized during our course of study at the institution that this importance of culture holds true here as well. The frequent contact with the various factors affecting the PGP student life have made us take up this topic and we aim to find the dots that connect to form the culture that is of PGP students in IIM Bangalore. Through this study, we also intend to analyze whether the existing culture of the college is stable and sustainable. If not, then what are the measures that could be taken to uplift the same. The study will attempt to find the influence of each factor on the overall PGP student culture through various research methods like depth interviews, group discussions, behavioral surveys and secondary data evaluations. Following the same, we would look to analyze the student cultures in external institutions of comparable standing in the same field. This would provide a perspective of the cultural footing of the institute. Finally, the project aims to propose concrete solutions to the gaps found in the PGP student culture, from how can we increase alumni connect to how can we change the student club culture. As with every student project, we are aware of the limitations of this venture, the major one being the subjective nature of the topic. Nevertheless, we still are endeavoring with this CCS with an objective to give back to the institute in any small way that we can.
