Video conferencing has been a prominent feature in businesses and personal lives (video calls) for a long time. There are many video conferencing tools available in the market which cater to the general public, small businesses and large corporates. These tools have enabled more personal interaction than normal audio phone calls and messages, helping people connect virtually inspite of being physically away sometimes across continents and time zones. However, the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, first reported in China in November 2019, brought the entire world to a standstill. Government imposed lockdowns and other safety protocols restricted movement and gathering of people in large numbers. While everyone at their own places, various sectors of industries adopted virtual means of work and collaboration to get businesses going. One such sector has been the education sector which too has now leveraged technological tools to create course content and impart education through the online medium. In this project, we shall try to understand various customer needs and challenges in the education sector for online project collaboration use case, and analyze how current tools fare on those need attributes. We, then shall attempt to come up with possible recommendations for product improvement to meet future challenges.
